Join West End Middle & High School Girls for our 2025 Fall Rugby 7's season!
Rugby 7's is a fast-paced, fun, and exciting format of tackle rugby (featured in the Olympics with American stars such as Ilona Maher, Liv Alev Kelter, & West-Ender Ariana Ramsey).
Safety, resilience, courage, and fun, are pinnacles of our game and we can’t wait for you to try. No experience is needed — you’ll be walked through how to play the game, how to tackle and go to ground safely, and you’ll get to enjoy social and fun-filled weekends starting this September! Girls & Women’s tackle rugby is a fast-growing sport in the US. Are you curious about scholarship opportunities and pathways beyond the youth level? Then come out and join the fun to find out! Season ends November 16.
Our Girls Rugby 7's program is led by Head Coach & West End Alumni, Abby Tobias. Abby is a long-time player, varsity collegiate captain (Queens University of Charlotte), USA Rugby certified referee, coach, and commissioner of the girls Chesapeake Rugby Conference. Tobias was recently awarded by the USAWRF's 15 Women Under 30 in 2024.
Practices are held Tuesdays & Thursdays at Franconia Park, Alexandria VA. 6:00-8:00PM.
All players and coaches must input their USA Rugby registration number with SYC registration. If you registered with USA Rugby at https://xplorer.rugby/west-end-syc-rugby/.
IMPORTANT: If you did not play rugby during Fall 2024 or Spring 2025, you must register with USA Rugby at https://xplorer.rugby/west-end-syc-rugby/. USA Rugby has a 2-step process: register for an account and receive a member number; then, continue through the system to pay for the registration.
